Countering History Distortion and Fake Words Use On Persian Gulf Ought to be On Permanent Agenda of National Cartographic Center/ NCC Plays Significant Role in Provincial Planning and Seventh Development Plan
Vice President and Head of Plan and Budget Organization, on April 30, coinciding with the commemoration of Persian Gulf National Day and unveiling National Water Atlas created by National Cartographic Center said that Countering History Distortion and Fake Words Use particularly on the Persian Gulf Ought to be on the Permanent Agenda of National Cartographic Center/ NCC Plays a Significant Role in Provincial Planning and Seventh Development Plan.
According to NCC report, on April 30, 2022, coinciding with the commemoration of Persian Gulf National Day; Dr. Seyed Massoud Mirkazemi said: "Persian Gulf National Day is a great day on which our independence was achieved by the zealous people of the southern region and made the aggressors to leave Iran”.
He stated that NCC should prevent use of fake names for Persian Gulf. He also explained that NCC should prevent from deceit and falsification of Persian Gulf name by providing documents continuously, and taking serious actions in the media and international assemblies.
Head of Plan and Budget Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stating that the role of NCC must get highlighted in the annual budgets, added: " Due to the role given to the provinces and the Provincial Planning Councils, spatial information has become significantly important, so in this regard NCC can help providing services needed by the provinces. "
Pointing out that economic growth was targeted in 1401, the Vice President stated: "The subject of land-use planning should be formulated in such a way as to correspond to the resources, nature, potentials and God-given capacities in that province. In this regard, the role of NCC is very important and NCC structure should be renewed in the provinces. "
Dr. Mirkazemi, emphasizing that NCC should be more active in the plans for 1401 and the seventh development plan, added: " In this regard, the NCC should provide the desired and complementary information to planners to make optimal use of the capacities of NCC. "
Emphasizing the need to use all the capacities of the country in NCC, he said: "All the potential of the country should be used and the technical and specialized capabilities of NCC should be strengthened more than before." If there is a need for outsourcing; the capacity of the private sector should also be used. "
Head of Plan and Budget Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran, referring to the importance of using knowledge-based capacities in the country, said: "If there are companies that can help the NCC in the field of knowledge-based, definitely this capacity and modern technologies should be taken to provide users with more accurate and comprehensive information since without accurate information, planning becomes difficult and costs will definitely be imposed on the country. The vice president added: "Try to use the latest technologies, because if we move based on accurate information, the country's planning will be more comprehensive. "
Referring to the necessity to use satellite information in the NCC, Dr. Mirkazemi stated: "The country must move toward self-sufficiency in the field of satellite information, and in this regard, the first steps have been taken and NCC in the same way use the information of native satellites to prepare a map. "

In another part of his speech, he referred to the issue of drought and said: "Drought and land subsidence is a serious issue that must be informed in this regard to the governors, the provincial planning council and the plan and budget organizations in the provinces, and also the necessary warnings should be given at the national level in order to be available to the national media.
