Eng. Ghanbarzadeh: National Cartographic Center Hosts 3rd ECO Geomatics Committee Meeting
Following fruitful activities of National Cartographic Center of Iran in the international arena; Eng. Ghanbarzadeh, General Manager of Director's office, Public and International Relations of NCC, announced the holding of the 3rd ECO Geomatics Committee Meeting virtually with the participation of ECO member states on October 1۱8, 2021۱.
According to NCC report, Eng. Ghanbarzadeh announced the holding of the 3rd ECO Geomatics Committee Meeting on October 2021 by National Cartographic Center of Iran and said: “Following the successful holding of the 3rd ECO Geomatics Committee Training Course on June 2021, NCC plans to hold the 3rd ECO Geomatics Committee Meeting on October 18, 2021 in the form of a webinar in English by the International Relations Office of NCC in cooperation with the technical deputies of the organization”.
Each country will present a national report on the activities of its Surveying organization at the 3rd ECO Geomatics Committee Meeting. The previous approvals of the 2nd ECO Geomatics Committee Meeting and the approvals of the previously held training courses will also be discussed. In addition, due to the expiry of the tenure of the ECO Geomatics Committee Secretariat, a vote will be held on the selection of the new secretary of this committee.
It is worth mentioning that National Cartographic Center of Iran held the 3rd training course on “Reference Frames and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and Data Processing” on June 2021 virtually for 3 days and in the form of a webinar in English under the Supervision of its International Relations Office.
It is worth adding that NCC of Iran is an active member of the Committee of Energy, Minerals, and Environment of ECO and so far has managed to hold several training courses. NCC also has been elected as the secretary of the ECO Geomatics Committee in three consecutive terms.
ECO has 10 member states, including Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
