With the presence of the representative of NCC in the thirty-fourth meeting of ECO Regional Planning Committee, was proposed:

Holding International Training Courses for ECO Member Countries in 2024/ the fourth ECO Geomatics Committee by National Cartographic Center of Iran

With the presence of the representative of National Cartographic Center of Iran, in the thirty-fourth meeting of ECO Regional Planning Committee (RPC), holding an international training course for ECO member countries in 2024, hosting the fourth ECO Geomatics Committee by National Cartographic Center of Iran were proposed.

According to the International Cooperation and Engineering Services Export  Office of NCC, the thirty-fourth meeting of the ECO Regional Planning Committee (RPC) is being held with the presence of ECO member countries in person/virtual (hybrid) form January 23–25, 2024.

Maryam Sadeghi, Head of the International Cooperation and Engineering Services Export Office of NCC, as the representative of NCC attended the meeting of the Energy, Mining and Environment Committee of ECO at the secretariat of this organization and explained NCC plans for 2024.

she further reviewed the activities of the NCC in this committee and proposed holding a virtual international training course on “The Current Technologies and Trends in Various Levels of Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI)”, which was welcomed by ECO Secretariat and member countries.

The head of the International Cooperation and Engineering Services Export  Office of NCC further suggested hosting the fourth ECO Geomatics Committee in person in Tehran by National Cartographic Center of Iran in case the rest of the countries do not host it, which was welcomed by the secretariat.

The representative of NCC also attended another committee of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) under the title of “Human Resources and Sustainable Development” and proposed holding the first international specialized training course on “Application of Geospatial Data in Disaster Risk Reduction” of the mentioned committee, which was welcomed by ECO Secretariat and member countries.

It is worth mentioning that NCC is one of the active members of the Energy, Minerals and Environment Committee of ECO and has also been elected as a member of the ECO Sustainable Development Committee. This organization also has been selected for the fourth time as the Secretary of the ECO Geomatics Committee until 2024 and so far has held several international training courses.
ECO has 10 members, including Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
