Presence of NCC Representatives in APDIM Technical Meeting on Regional Actions Plan to Deal with Sand and Dust Storm
According to NCC News, quoted from the International Cooperation and Engineering Services Export Office of NCC, the 8th meeting on the Disaster Risk Reduction Committee of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (SCAP) was held at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok from 24 to 27 July 2023.
Simultaneously with this meeting and on the sidelines of it, the first technical meeting on “the implementation of the Regional Plan of Action on Sand and Dust Storms” by the Asia Pacific Center for the Development of Disaster Information Management (APDIM) will be held in person and virtually in Bangkok for two days.
On the second day of the dust meeting, the representatives of NCC attended the meeting online and gave a specialized speech about " Coordinated international, regional and transboundary actions in most at-risk and exposed geographical areas to mitigate the risk and exposure to sand and dust storms".
In this meeting, which was held in person and online, Moradian, head of the International Cooperation and Engineering Services Export Office of NCC, while thanking the organizers of this specialized meeting, referring to the presence of the Director General of NCC in the coming days of the meeting in person in Bangkok, He introduced the representative of the organization. Then, Omati, NCC's General Department of Aerial and Spatial Surveying expert and remote sensing specialist, presented the report of the NCC.
It should be noted that NCC is the only official representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Asia Pacific Center for the Development of Disaster Information Management (APDIM) and has played a significant role in this international center during its presence as the country's representative.
It is worth mentioning that Javidaneh, the Director General of NCC, as the only official representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran, will be in charge of the general administration of the conference as the vice-chairman of the meeting on Wednesday, August 26, 2023 in Bangkok.
