Suggestions of NCC of Iran for the Documents of the 7th IPCC Report at the 60th Session of IPCC

According to NCC News, quoted from the International Cooperation and Engineering Services Export Office of NCC, the 60th session of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in Turkey ended on January 19, 2024.

In this meeting, the perspective of the 7th assessment cycle of the IPCC was drawn and decisions were made about the focus of future reports and the timetable for their preparation in the next five to seven years, and the opinions provided by the representatives of different countries were used in determining the policy for preparing the 7th climate change report.

Ramin Papee, the representative of NCC, accompany with the Iranian delegation from Iran Meteorological Organization, the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad and the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, studied 26 documents related to the seventh cycle of the IPCC assessment and summarized their suggestions and opinions, and finally presented by Sahar Tajbakhsh, the head of Iran Meteorological Organization, as the national reference of IPCC. Issues such as the use of UN official geographical names, the content and schedule of reports, and the presentation of promotional reports were among the issues raised by the Iranian delegation.

Also, the representative of NCC of Iran held side meetings with the head of the OPEC environment department and the representatives of Iraq and Libya, in which the studies, actions and capacities of NCC of Iran were mentioned.
