According to NCC, the Department of Cartography and National Atlases, follow-ups to amend the resolution of the Iranian Committee for Standardization of Geographical Names came to fruition on the government board.

Among the achievements of the new resolution is the membership of the representative of five organizations in the committee, which are directly related to the issues of Standardization of Geographical Names. In addition, in the new resolution, the committee is introduced as the reference in providing the spelling, pronunciation, and transcription of geographical names, and other agencies are obliged to implement its decisions.

It is hoped that the achievements and the legal requirements for implementation of this resolution will lead to the development and establishment of activities related to the Standardization of Geographical Names in different agencies.
