ECO Newsletter reflects the news of holding an international training course for ECO member countries by NCC

According to NCC news, quoted from the International Cooperation and Engineering Services Export Office of NCC, ECO Newsletter reflected the news of holding the training course on “Application of Spatial Data in Disaster Risk Reduction” by the National Cartographic Center of Iran on December 16 and 17, 2024, for ECO member countries.
The ECO Newsletter for December 2024 mentioned the collaboration of the ECO Secretariat with the National Cartographic Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran (NCC) to organize a virtual training course with the aim of enhancing the participants’ expertise in utilizing technologies like remote sensing, GNSS data analysis, and InSAR for effective disaster management.
The published news also states that the training course emphasized the role of geospatial data in building resilience against shared challenges such as natural disasters and climate change.
It should be noted that the news mentioned the presence and speech of Nurberdiyev, ECO Deputy Secretary General Ambassador, as well as the Director General of the National Cartographic Center of Iran and pointed out the emphasis of both on the importance of regional cooperation and capacity building in disaster risk reduction.
