National Cartographic Center Fully Prepared to Export Geospatial Engineering Services to ECO Member States
Dr. Ali Javidaneh, Director General of National Cartographic Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the opening of the fourth international specialized training course of the ECO Geomatics Committee said that Iran has localized the knowledge of Geomatics and spatial information and now is self-sufficient in meeting the country’s needs and ready to export our innovative technology and engineering services to all ECO member states.

In his opening speech, Dr. Ali Javidaneh, Director General of NCC, welcomed the representatives of the Economic Cooperation Organization, stating that “Iran is self-sufficient in meeting the country’s spatial information needs and NCC of Iran is ready to export innovative technology and engineering services to all ECO member states. In this respect, the National Cartographic Center of Iran signed an MOU with the republic of Tajikistan for technical and engineering consultation on May 30,2022 and will extend collaborations with other ECO member countries.”
Director General of NCC continued by stating that NCC has held three specialized training courses in geomatics and spatial information between 2016 and 2021, as part of the activities of the ECO Geomatics Committee and said that: “We are now proud to hold the fourth international specialized training course of the ECO Geomatics Committee.”
He added that: “In order to expand cooperation with the ECO Secretariat, NCC of Iran intends to join another ECO committee entitled Sustainable Development, which operates within the ECO Regional Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. In addition, NCC of Iran is planning to host the third ECO Heads of Surveying and Mapping Organizations meeting in 2022, either virtually or in person.”
At the end of his speech, Dr. Javidaneh thanked the NCC colleagues especially the International Relations Office and the General Department of Aerial and Spatial Surveying of NCC for holding the international specialized training course and expressed a hope that this training course will yield satisfactory results for sustainable development in the countries of the region.
