National Cartographic Center of Iran Holds Specialized Geomatics Training Course in Tajikistan

According to the International Cooperation and Engineering Services Export Department of the National Cartographic Center (NCC) of Iran, a delegation from the NCC undertook a working visit to Dushanbe from November 30 to December 4, 2025, upon the official invitation of the Chairman of the State Committee for Land and Geodesy of the Republic of Tajikistan. During this visit, the delegation conducted a five-day specialized training course on modern geomatics technologies for Tajik experts. The training course aimed to enhance the technical capabilities of Tajik specialists and was attended by managers and experts from the aerial/spaceborne and land surveying departments of the host country. Eng. Saeid Mohammadnejad Niazi, Head of the Aerial Flight and Imaging Department at NCC, presented specialized topics in aerial and drone photogrammetry, covering fundamental principles, flight operation planning, precise map production using UAV data, ground control point deployment, and data quality control methods.

Furthermore, Eng. Ali Talebi, Head of the Land Surveying Department, and Eng. Masoud Sanatgar, Geodesy Expert at NCC, instructed on coordinate systems, datums and their applications, coordinate determination and transformation methods, geodetic computation principles, and precise measurement techniques. On the sidelines of the course, an official meeting was held between the dispatched Iranian delegation and the Chairman of the State Committee for Land and Geodesy of Tajikistan. During this meeting, the Tajik side expressed gratitude for holding this specialized training course and emphasized the necessity of developing and sustaining bilateral technical cooperation, scientific exchanges, and specialized relations. The course was held in a fully professional environment with excellent coordination from the host. Participants benefited from theoretical content and engaged in practical workshops and Q&A sessions to address their specialized questions. At the closing ceremony, participation certificates were awarded to all attendees, and both sides stressed the importance of continuing and expanding scientific and technical cooperation in the future.
